Bangalore, the City of Gardens derived its name from 'boiled beans'. A story goes that a kind-hearted woman gave boiled beans to eat to the starving king of the Vijaynagar Empire. The king called this place Bendakaaluooru after the incident, which is made by combining two Kannada words, 'Benda Kaalu' meaning 'boiled beans' and 'Ooru' meaning 'village'. With time, Bendakaalooru became Bengalooru and corrupted to 'Bangalore' in English. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. Enjoy the tours to Bangalore with various places to visit.

The Vidhan Soudha built in Neo-Dravidian style is situated at Dr Ambedkar Veddi Road. Built between 954 and 1958, it attracts lot of tourists. It houses the State Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat of the state of Karnataka.

The Cubbon Park designed by Sir Richard Sankey, the chief engineer of and was named after Lord Cubbon, the Commissioner of Bangalore, in the year 1864 AD. The premises of the Cubbon Park houses the central library, the aquarium, the Jawahar Bal Bhavan with its mini theatre and toy train, the museum, VITM and KSLTA tennis court.

The architecture of the palace is similar to Tudor style with inspiration derived from the Windsor Palace. This Lal Bagh Garden, spread over 100 hectares is a botanical garden laid by Haider Ali in 1760 AD. Tipu Sultan added a several exotic plants and trees brought over from many countries. It was called Lal Bagh because of a large number of red roses. The garden is enriched by the collection of tropical and sub tropical and medicinal plants. The main attraction of the park is the Glass House, inspired by the London Crystal Palace.
